02Areas of Focus

Six disciplines, applied as a single practice.

Each area answers a different question, but they are not separable. A market-entry judgement is an investment judgement; a macro view is only useful once it reaches an operating decision.

01

Investment Research

Company and sector analysis built from the ground up: unit economics, competitive structure, capital intensity and the conditions under which returns hold.

Research begins with how a business actually earns — what it buys, what it sells, who it depends on, and what would have to change for its margins to move. Sector work maps the same question across an industry so that a single company can be read against the structure it sits inside.

02

Economic Analysis

Macro and sectoral conditions translated into operating consequence: demand, input costs, currency, credit, labour supply and policy direction.

Macro analysis is only useful when it reaches the income statement. The work connects aggregate conditions to the specific channels through which they arrive at a business — pricing power, financing cost, input availability, regulatory timing.

03

Cross-Border Strategy

How capital, goods, services and ownership move between jurisdictions — and where the friction, arbitrage and advantage sit.

Borders are not neutral. Tariff schedules, rules of origin, ownership limits, treaty networks, free-zone regimes and repatriation rules all reshape the economics of the same transaction. Strategy means choosing structure deliberately rather than inheriting it.

04

Private Markets

Research on privately held assets and opportunities: mid-market companies, real assets, infrastructure-adjacent businesses and co-investment structures.

Private markets reward information that is assembled rather than retrieved. The work focuses on segments where pricing is negotiated rather than quoted, and where the quality of an assessment depends on understanding an operating business in detail.

05

Market Entry

Whether a market can be entered profitably, by what structure, on what sequence, and at what point the commitment becomes irreversible.

Entry analysis separates the addressable market from the accessible one. Distribution control, regulatory qualification, local partnership requirements and logistics cost usually decide the outcome long before demand does.

06

Strategic Investment

Positioning ahead of structural change — identifying where economic conditions are shifting before the shift is priced.

Most repricing is preceded by something observable: a policy signal, a logistics reconfiguration, a change in relative input cost, a new trade instrument. The discipline is in reading those signals early and being explicit about what would disprove the thesis.
